Image 1: Saying farewells in Baltimore were Susan Agnew and her mother, Mrs. Spiro T. Agnew, wife of the former Vice President. Miss Agnew served as a volunteer as assistant librarian for Project HOPE in Maceio, Brazil.
Image 3: HOPE President and founder Dr. William B. Walsh feeds letter to President Nixon into COMSAT telecopier which will instantaneously relay the letter to the COMSAT receiver in Washington, D.C. COMSAT equipment was in operation for Project HOPE during its 1973 teaching mission in Maceio, Brazil. Project HOPE has continued its medical teaching-treatment programs in Maceio, now conducted through the outpatient clinic at the Ambulatorio.
